SOLD/ NW Everett
- Features
The Prager-Lombard House is located in NW Portland, Oregon. The exterior details exemplify the Queen Anne style and include imbricated shingles, extensive carved wood decoration with egg and dart trim, a three story tower on the northwest side and a boxed bay windows on the south and north elevations. The residence is an asymmetrical plan with a concrete foundation, horizontal siding, shingles, copper ledges, all original windows and stucco. The roof has multiple gables with a gable dormer and is steeply pitched.
The National Landmark was converted to apartment use in 1943. There are 6 units, 3 on each of 2 floors with an additional 3rd floor that is livable space ready for heat and electric.
The building has undergone an extensive restoration since 1992. Many original functional and decorative architectural elements, victims of time and expediency, have been re-milled out of old growth cedar and replaced. This wonderful piece of history has been given a new life.
